Battler version 31
(Phlinx II)

Torch or Google Chrome only:  These newer Html5 games were specifically coded/tested with Torch and Google Chrome on multiple machines and all operating systems. I am no longer supporting any other browsers because they usually load completely different (distorted) graphics and are sluggish/worthless besides.

31 (6.7.2022) All of the games had their Continue Game intermission screen altered, which stalled the autos.
30 (4.2.2022) The older first Phlinx version was removed from the game site. But as of today's date, Battler is fixed and the newer Phlinx II works for me with Google Chrome. Resizes the inner child browser to a uniform 848x600 size, so there's no need to hover the mouse anywhere.
29 (5.4.2020) Continue Game and Okay! buttons moved again.
28 (3.11.2020) Phlinx II's Continue Game button was moved again, which stalled the auto there after Tuesday morning's maintenance.
27 (3.4.2020) Phlinx II got its Continue Game screen adjusted, which stalled the auto there after last Tuesday morning's maintenance.
26 (7.2.2019) Battle Phlinx was removed from the game site.
26 (4.23.2019) Now another "3 in one" auto, I added Phlinx II (its tutorial only) since so many challenges (and rank) can be achieved. That's all the auto currently does: plays the tutorial, starts a regular game, immediately quits out, receives credit for all qualifying tutorial action, over and over. Drop X power-up stones, drop X regular stones (great rank progress), match X colored stones, big quantities and very quickly. Also killed the "side A" file. Read the above tip if the auto isn't finding your browser's graphics properly.
25/25a (2.17.2016) Some of you have a moved game summary Play Again popup screen, which stalled the auto. This update should cover both.
24/24a (12.12.2015) My dear friend Brian wanted the auto to quit after each first round in regular Phlinx, since it's the easiest of the four rounds (in any skill level) and helps your tournament scores... as well as various non-jackpot challenges. That's why you'll see a brand new Round 1 only check mark option in Battler. Thanks for the suggestion.
23/23a (10.2.2015) Annual Halloween theme back inside Phlinx. I may have this version allowing both themes (hopefully), so we probably won't have to do anything when Halloween is removed this time.
22/22a (4.16.2015) A month ago, they altered just about everything in regular Phlinx. Worse, this game joined the ever-growing list of autos that are needing side "A" files (for those of you loading a different set of smudgy graphics). This means I had to make two separate updates and was very close to finishing... until they went back in and did a huge revamp of the game's graphics and destroyed everything I had just about ready for everyone. The entire game is now more vibrant and colorful, brighter and detailed. You can just tell the difference. So yes, I had to start over again and recode two more updates. If the auto tells you to use the side file instead, you are loading the second set of grainy graphics and simply need the version available in the above Still have old graphics? tip. For now, please keep your skill level at Normal or below (preferably Beginner). As far as I am aware, there are no badges/challenges that require anything more difficult than Beginner. Winning rounds/games, dropping groups, making matches, ranking up, jackpot spins, all so much quicker on the easiest skill.
21 (11.4.2014) Halloween theme removed from Phlinx.
20 (9.28.2014) And... we're back to the annual halloween theme in regular Phlinx. Thanks for letting me know, guys.
19 (11.1.2013) The annual halloween theme is gone in regular Phlinx, so we're back to the old school.
18 (10.1.2013) The annual halloween theme is back in regular Phlinx. Let me know when it's removed in November so we can go back to the old version.
17 (1.15.2013) In regular Phlinx (if you watch real close), you can see your entire game nudge north when the game summary screen appears. After you click Play Again, it seats itself back down where it was. This was throwing off the upper-left corner of your game.
16 (11.11.2012) Updated both for Windows 8 compatibility.
15 (11.7.2012) The Halloween theme was removed. Thanks, Joe.
14 (10.9.2012) This morning's maintenance brought a new Halloween theme. I am surprised the auto worked at all, to be honest. Thanks for making me aware, everyone. Let me know when they put the old theme back and we'll switch back ourselves.
13 (9.22.2012) They moved Phlinx's Play Again and Replay Round buttons in Firefox and Internet Explorer. Thanks for the tip, Shane.
12 (8.20.2012) Phlinx got itself a new game summary Play Again button. Thanks for letting me know, Barbara.
11 (3.13.2012) Phlinx is now embedded into the web browser. Please continue to hover your mouse on that upper dark strip to start the auto.
10 (5.18.2011) They altered all of the between-game buttons (Play Again, Next Round). Easy fix.
9 (4.8.2011) The new Firefox4 was having trouble finding your Phlinx game, so I had to adjust some things. From now on (for regular Phlinx), hover your mouse on the upper dark strip. If you want to play Battle Phlinx, put your mouse on your opponents or rank inside the game. Battler should now also play Phlinx in Facebook.
8 (2.28.2011) Found a rare time that the pods were still getting stuck, so I totally rewrote that area... seems to be fine now. Also, some XP users had a different Play Again/Next Round button for some reason. While I was in there, I slowed it down a bit to help the intel and added an extra pause when the stones are sliding down. It was misreading the screen during that animation and firing bad shots. Battler now can handle Normal difficulty and even pick off a few games on Hard. Of course, I recommend sticking with Beginner to get the jobs done the fastest.
7 (2.26.2011) Whoops, forgot about the rank changes inside the pods. Let me know if you have any trouble.
6 (2.26.2011) Phlinx was converted to Flash, so just about everything needed a tweak. In the switchover, they seemed to have fixed their Stone Holder error, so I turned that option back on. Make sure you are not in any browser's tabbed mode and don't resize-stretch your window. You need to load Phlinx in a normal pop-up window exactly the way it appears, unaltered, or Battler will have trouble finding your game.
5 (11.6.2010) Some of you were experiencing a -1 popup window when about to lose during an occasional bonus round in Phlinx. It's actually an error in their game, since the balls had crossed the safety line below and Battler didn't know what to do. And sometimes, your pictures showed that you had no balls on your screen at all... not even in the shooting pod. Regardless, the auto now just clicks New Game to get through it. Thanks to those who let me know and tested this new version, as this weird stall never happened for me personally.
4 (10.19.2010) They changed the window size this morning. Easy fix. Thanks for letting me know, Tina.
3 (9.14.2010) There are no changes in this update to Battle Phlinx except a new shell upgrade. The new black strips caused a minor issue in regular Phlinx. Easy fix. If you are using Internet Explorer, make sure you stay out of tabbed mode. Have your pop-ups open in a new window instead, as described in the Questions "Changing out of tab mode" section of my site. Or just use Firefox, of course. This auto was also in a very old shell so I converted it to the new one (smoother play, auto-updates itself, Control key now pauses auto instead of Shift, Doubly issues fixed). Battler should now be Facebook ready as well... when Phlinx arrives there. Unfortunately, one of the reasons for the delay in this update, is there's an error in the game involving the Stone Holder at the lower right. Sometimes it causes a ghost ball to appear and you cannot see anything in your shooting pod. After days of yanking out my hair and trying numerous ways around it, I decided to temporarily turn off that option. I even tried pausing two annoying seconds before using the Stone Holder (and two full seconds after clicking it), but nothing mattered. It's just plain broken. And after 1-4 minutes when it breaks, you have a ball in your pod but you can't see it. But on a good note, I did speed up this auto for those of you that care. I don't recommend 100 speed since the rows slide down every couple shots. I would keep it around 50 speed and just play on Beginner or Easy skill levels for best results and to get the job done.
2 (1.27.2006) As before (in version 1), leave your mouse in the center of your playing field's box for best results. I included an option for choosing the row you would like to spend your power stones, rather than being forced. Max'd was removed for various reasons, but Battler is now capable of that maximized speed anyways. You could experience some slower java when double browsing, so play with it. A friend showed me their IE-vm FF-sun combo actually become smoother by reversing the location of her windows (amazing) and the result was the smoothest Battler battle I had even witnessed myself. I think I need a new laptop now.
1 (11.18.2005) This auto works with either java platform, but I think Sun may be the smoother choice. There was no need to program any wall-bouncing shots, but I will consider it in the future since it's not too difficult to include. I am certain this possible future inclusion could make it much slower, as there would have to be 12 additional path searches (right now there are only 3). Important: Battler has not been thoroughly tested at this point! I am very aware that it might be slower on older processors. If this is happening to you, I highly recommend rebooting your computer and disabling/closing all icons running down by your clock first. Then use the Internet Explorer browser only (not AOL) and try both java platforms if possible. This morning, I watched the auto run for a few hours and tweaked a few things for the better. It actually stopped on me through the night while I slept, but I think I may have taken care of it. There's a speed option inside if you would like to slow it down a bit. The SHIFT key conveniently pauses the auto, as a few of my other software programs also include. Send me any and all problems/comments as soon as you can. If a version 2 is necessary (and possible), I will give it my best.
